Free Children and Families from Slavery
Slavery still exists. Families are forced to work in brick kilns and factories—toiling up to 20 hours every day in the unforgiving heat. Children as young as three suffer as slaves in the brutal fishing industry. Not only are modern-day slaves beaten and abused at the slightest mistake, they are also denied food, sleep and life-saving medical care.
Protect Children from Sexual Violence
Children are extremely vulnerable to rape and sexual abuse. With no money for a lawyer or medical care, children are often left devastated and alone. Because rapists in many countries don’t fear any sort of punishment, children are at risk in their homes, schools and communities.
Rescue Girls from Sex Trafficking
Millions of vulnerable children and women are trafficked for sex every year. Pimps and brothel owners often lure them by promising a good job, only to force them to sell their bodies over and over again. Hurting, alone and afraid, many trafficking victims lose hope of ever being rescued.
Rescue Children from Cybersex Trafficking
The cybersex trafficking of children is a sickening form of modern-day slavery. Pedophiles and predators can search online and pay to sexually abuse young, defenseless children anywhere in the world from the comfort of their own home. Unable to seek help, many children suffer in silence.
Defend Widows and Orphans
For poor families, a small patch of land is often their only source of food and shelter. But many widows have this lifeline stolen from them after their husbands die, and greedy relatives prey on orphans in their time of need. Widows are often chased from their homes with machetes and threats of violence—leaving their families homeless and desperate.
Defend the Innocent
In many places, police not only fail to protect the poor from violence, but they are violent predators themselves. In Kenya, corrupt police officers pin crimes on innocent people and throw them in prison, where they can endure months or years of abusive treatment.
When the poor are aware of the dangers around them, they can better protect their families from violence. We train vulnerable communities on the lies that criminals use to trap them, and with this knowledge, they can stay safe for years to come.

Send Rescue to Boys on Lake Volta
In Ghana, thousands of young boys wake up each morning and spend their days fishing on Lake Volta, the world’s largest man-made lake. These boys are slaves. They are beaten, malnourished and often spend more than 12 hours a day—rain or shine—on the lake.
